Last year they expanded that program to include football and basketball. On Monday, April 26, General Manager, Steve Stefanovich stepped up again with a $500 contribution to the Clinton Recreation baseball program. Go Automotive and Chevy's contribution comes in the form of equipment for the baseball teams. "We received practice balls, ball buckets for the coaches and practice t shirts for the players." according to Judi Nicholson Clinton Recreation Director. "Steve is a great supporter of the recreation department and especially children." "We have given $200 this year to help out our local kids." Mr. Stefanovich shared on Monday's opening day at Royal Lane Park. He also urged everyone to go online at www.ChevyBaseball.com and enter our community for the "Building Diamonds and Dreams" program. According to the Chevy website, the promotion will refurbish five youth baseball fields in the United States. Team fans can go to ChevyBaseball.com and enter their ZIP code for a chance to win the field makeover, and either a new Chevy Malibu, Traverse, Equinox or Silverado. The automaker's national promotions manager, Phil Caruso, "This year, we have really focused the effort around rallying at the local community level. Everything that we have, from national asset to local youth baseball, is really integrated for the first time in quite a few years." The "Diamonds and Dreams" program runs until July 16, with TV, digital, radio and local dealer ad support, plus turnkey activation at 1,200 dealerships. "And it's connected directly to some 2,000 youth baseball leagues, so it's very well integrated throughout," says Caruso. In addition to presenting the check to the recreation department, Mr. Stefanovich was asked to throw out the first pitch. With Braves catcher, Chandler Perry in place behind the plate, Mr. Stefanovich stepped up on the pitcher's mound and threw a strike to open the season.
